Volunteers provide their skills and energy conducting bald eagle surveys, river clean-up projects, educational outreach, water trail maintenance, gift shop or office work, Sandhill Crane Watch, Monarch Monitoring, Turtle Ranger, public relations, special projects, and more. We invite you to learn from first hand experiences. By volunteering, you’ll be contributing to the Refuge you care about.

Stewards of the Upper Mississippi River Refuge (SUMRR), is a non-profit organization dedicated to environmental education, creating quality wildlife habitat, enhancing public understanding of the Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife and Fish Refuge, and to provide assistance to the US Fish and Wildlife Service.
